For the November 2024 Election Season, we will offer two types of classes for our Election Workers:
- In-person, 4.5-hour election training is mandatory for all new election workers and those who have only worked one election between January 2022 and May 2024.
- In-person, 2.5-hour election training is mandatory for all election workers who have worked at least two elections between January 2022 and May 2024.
De-escalation Training:
Beginning the week of September 30th, Harris County Election Services will provide weekly, online de-escalation training for all election workers. De-escalation training is designed using Secretary of State resources and current research to help election workers de-escalate issues that may arise in the vote center. This course is voluntary and unpaid. Dates and times will be added the week before September 30th, 2024.
New Late Policy for Training Classes:
Election Workers must arrive on time to training. The instructor will close the doors once it has begun to respect the time and attention of those already in attendance. After the doors have been closed, no Election Workers will be permitted to enter. Those unable to attend class due to tardiness can reschedule their training online or call 713-755-1617, Option 04 to speak with a trainer.
