As the local filing authority, I am pleased to make available to county officeholders and candidates the forms needed to comply with campaign and financial disclosure laws.

The County Clerk’s office accepts filings from officeholders and candidates for County Judge, County Commissioner, County Attorney, District Attorney, Sheriff, County Tax Assessor-Collector, County Clerk, District Clerk, County Treasurer, Constable, Justice of the Peace, County Court or Statutory Probate Court Judge, and Harris County School Trustee at 201 Caroline, 3rd Floor, Room 330, Houston, Texas 77002.

Filers are strongly encouraged to reference the corresponding form instruction guides and pertinent sections of the law when completing the campaign and finan-cial disclosure forms.

CAMPAIGN FINANCE

WHO MAY FILE WITH THE COUNTY CLERK?

County Officeholders and Candidates must file a Semiannual (January and July) Campaign Finance Report with the Harris County Clerk’s Office in accordance with Title 15 of the Texas Election Code.

FILING NOTICE

The County Clerk is responsible for making campaign finance forms available to filers. But, the County Clerk is not required to send filers notices to file.

SOFTWARE TO GENERATE REQUIRED CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORT FORMS

To facilitate and make the campaign and personal financial disclosure form completion process more efficient, the Texas Ethics Commission (TEC) provides software which may be downloaded and used to create and print the PDF documents required for filing with the County Clerk’s Office.
